Mico Construction 1986 - 2007 Serving the Valley for 21 Years A Personal Biography Of Mike Tillinghast, President. I began my career working alongside my father at the ripe young age of 18 years. I did the dirty work nobody wanted to do. After 7 years in the trenches, I ventured out and got my own general contracting license, a B-1, in 1986. Then married for two years, I decided that my company name should bear not only my name (Mike), but also my better half (Coco), which explains who we are, Mico Construction Inc. Between attaining my A. A. From Fresno City College, raising two beautiful girls and a wonderful son and slowing and carefully growing my business over the years, I have come to really appreciate all that construction has taught me.
Every day is a learning experience.
Some of the most difficult and challenging times have provided me with
the tools and foundation to stay true to myself, my men and the people we
service. I have and continue to be
blessed with special and gifted employees who now dig in those very same
trenches I once frequented. They
possess the loyalty, commitment and heart that make us a real family.
Over the years we have gone from renting our space, to owning a small
office and warehouse to finally moving to our new home nested on 20 acres
overlooking the sierras. We have finally created an environment that allows
space for our inventory, growth and more time with loved ones.
It is becoming a special place through the hard work that has, and still
is providing a lifetime of memories.
